Faux Fur

Okay so at the time these photos were taken, I was actually test running a brand new pair of eyelashes I had received from a friend for Christmas. Because the lashes were so long, they ended up drooping quite significantly when I applied them, making my eyes look really narrow, haha. So first off, apologies for the squinty eyes, it's such a shame because they were such good quality lashes and were so soft! I like to think that they're giving me eye smiles like Tiffany from SNSD hahaha. (One can dream...)~

Anyhow, this faux fur scarf has been my absolute "go to" this winter, it has this fantastic ability to transform any outfit into something more dressy, whilst giving me the much needed warmth to survive the bitter British weather! I actually went with a dark plum, vampy lip colour to toughen up the girly/cutesy look from the pink skirt, but the camera has photographed it very red/pink here, so strange.

Faux fur and Pink skirt: H&M; Patterned long sleeve top: Urban Outfitters; White blazer: River Island; Tan box bag: Asos

And you can tell how much I love box bags right? (See post). I purchased this cute tan one from the Mischa Barton range on Asos years and years ago. It's the epitome of impractical, but it's cute, so, y'know xD

What's your staple winter piece this year?

Geeky Bunny

Bunny sweater: Paris; Thigh high socks: eBay

Bought this jumper whilst living in Paris over 2 years ago, in a small boutique near Les Halles with my beloved Annabel Lee <3 check out her blog if you'd like~ I recall wearing it during dissertation season, as if I were able to feign intelligence by wearing nerdy looking bunnies on my torso xD

Anyway, if I remember correctly, this sweater came in a several different colours, including a light pink, but I went for this beige/nude for ease of pairing with different colours on the bottom half. I haven't worn this in a long while, but recently the temperature has dropped so dramatically, (it's snowing right now!) that all I want to do is wear cosy knits and sit by my heater T___T"
...and wear cosy knits I shall!

I genuinely wish I needed prescribed glasses, I always have done, I've been jealous of my younger brother ever since he started wearing glasses at the age of 7. The only thing stopping me is my 20/20 vision xD

Study hard guys! I know it's currently essay season, and coming up to exam season very soon. Get your geek on, it'll be worth it in the end!

Review :: Vera Wang Princess

If you follow me on twitter you'll know that I'm running very low on my current favourite perfume - Marc Jacobs Daisy. I did consider re-purchasing Daisy, but I've wanted Vera Wang's Princess for such a long while now that between the two, I thought I might as well go for a brand new fragrance! (I mean, I couldn't buy them both now, that would be far too indulgent ;D ). Anyway, I'm so glad I did because I really do love the smell of the Vera Wang, and even after a whole day out and about, I'm still able to catch whiffs of it on my skin =)

And how CUTE is the bottle! Everything about it screams princess, from the heart design to the crown cap!

I visited the Vera Wang Princess website, and they describe it as:

"Radiant. Whimsical. Born to Rule!
Created for the modern day Princess, this sheer, fruity floral fragrance is definitely born to rule! The scent sparkles with the captivating, sweet, tart aroma of delicate lady apples and the coveted tahitian tiare flower and finishes with a tasty vanilla chiffon - a treat fit for royalty!"

Overall Rating 5/5 ✭✭✭✭✭

The cuteness of the design absolutely wins it for me!~ (sucker for cute things) I would definitely buy this again because I love everything with a vanilla tone to it, in fact, my other fragrance of preference was the Vanilla Eau de Toilette from Body Shop, but they've actually discontinued it now, and have revamped the fragrance (and the price T__T" ) to one currently named "Madagascan Vanilla Flower". This one does have a pleasant smell about it, and is obviously vanilla, but with a much more flowery/perfumed accent. I much prefer their discontinued one and am so disappointed that I can't buy it in store anymore...  Maybe I'll scour Ebay...

Almost empty...

What's your fragrance of choice?

ps. I bought Vera Wang's Princess from Boots.

Granny Chic

I feel like a granny, I think it's all the knitted pieces going on here xD But I'm so comfortable, and cosy, and I adore the Aztec style print on this open cardigan! I'm also enjoying bringing pieces from my summer wardrobe into winter/spring, and I especially love the cream colour of this asymmetrical skirt I bought in Hong Kong last year.

The infinity scarf/snood, I actually thieved from my brother xD and I'm wearing one of my favourite vintage belts, this one my aunty gave me a few years ago and it's in such good condition!

Aztec print cardi: New Look; Grey snood: Topman; Asymmetrical skirt: HK; Belt: vintage

Also, seeking some advice, would you guys prefer that I edit my photos? or leave them unedited? So, which is better from the 2 replicated photos above? Let me know in the comments ^^

Be My Valentine

I've watched so many DIY Valentine's gift tutorials on YouTube this past week, that I'm really getting in the spirit of romance and cute heart shaped things. Alas, I actually have to work on the 14th this year. xD My boyfriend and I don't make a big deal out of valentine's at all, (I don't think I've even bought him a card, let alone bought/made a gift), mainly because our yearly anniversary lands on the 20th of Feb, and we prefer to celebrate that instead.

Anyway, in the spirit of l'amour, pink things and romance, I thought I'd show you guys what I would wear if I were going on a date this Valentine's day. I've kept it completely foolproof and simple, throw on a pretty dress and cute heels, I mean, every girl has a pretty dress in their wardrobe ;) I think this particular one is perfect for Valentine's because, it's pink! and the sheer, flowy bottom half is so flirty and comfy, but cuts off above the knee so as not to look too over the top. And it does the most amazing job at hiding food babies ;D a valentine's date surely involves dinner right? Whilst the fitted top half with its floral detailing clings to your waist, still keeping your figure.

Dress: Miss Selfridge; Wedges: Dorothy Perkins; Pearl necklace: H. Samuel

I love this dress because you have the freedom to remove the grey ribbon and replace with a belt, or another piece of ribbon of your choice. But I personally think the grey ribbon that came with the dress works well with the light pink. I'm also wearing the pearl necklace Tim bought me for my birthday 2 years ago, and I always reserve it for special occasions~

Remember to tell the ones you love, that you do, every single day

Falling in Love with Black (All Over Again)

So it 's been a very long while since I've donned an all-black outfit, the past 6/7 years has seen me attempt to transition black out of my wardrobe after realising my wardrobe was predominantly this colour. I've since acquired so many brighter, more colourful pieces, and had successfully removed most traces of neutrality, that my current infatuation with black really does prove a huge irony. OTL

Anyway, all the black here (excluding shoes), are very newly purchased and gifted pieces. The peplum top was from my cousin last Christmas (give her blog some love?), and both the black pants and leather jacket I purchased a few weeks ago.

Black pants: Asos; Leather jacket: Topshop; Black peplum and wedges: New Look; Necklace: Dorothy Perkins
The trick with peplum is to find one that cinches in at the right place, the narrowest part of your torso - your waist. This will make your waist look a lot smaller, whilst giving you the perfect hourglass shape.

An all-black outfit definitely calls for statement jewellery, and I absolutely love my tapestry print box bag - the strap is the same colour as my hair haha.

What's your favourite colour to wear this season?

Grey Boots

Found these boots in my, well, essentially it is just a shoe room xD Bought these in a random boutique in Paris a couple of years ago and they haven't seen daylight since! I forgot how much I love the details on them -  as well as simple round studs at the front, the strap at the back is encrusted with star shaped studs. Feelin' a real cowgirl vibe.

I'll be looking to incorporate these into my winter/spring wardrobe, what would you suggest I wear to match these? ^^

Magnetized Nails

Today's nails, brought to you by 17's "Magnetized Nail Polish". My cousin bought me the grey one (which is my personal favourite) a while ago, and I have since purchased the other colours in their Magnetized range. (From Boots if you're wondering~)
2 coats for a pigmented appearance, and to create the wavy effect, all you have to do is hover the magnet, which is embedded in the black casing, over your nail whilst the polish is still wet. I love this polish for its interesting and unique look, and because it dries really quickly. I also brushed a light layer of glitter on top of the Magnetized polish, that's why it looks slightly speckly in the photo above.

What do you think?

Teal

I LOVE blazers, I have 7 floating around in my wardrobe, and am always on the hunt to add to my collection. What's more, teal is one of my favourite colours, so imagine my joy when I found this teal blazer on sale for £10! I love the way throwing a blazer on top of any outfit instantly gives a crisp edge to your look. Smart-casual made very easy.

Sheer mustard shirt: Forever21; Teal blazer: Primark; High shine pants: Asos; Cross necklace: Topshop; Shoes: Paris
I've wanted disco pants from American Apparel for so long, but couldn't justify spending £74 on a pair of pants, particularly because I very rarely wear trousers/pants as it is. So I went on Asos and bought a pair of these. They're definitely not as shiny or as metallic looking as those from AA, but I think I prefer the more muted shine for a day to day, wearable look. I bought my pair from the petite section, but they're available in Asos' normal range also.
