Mini Spring Haul

I say mini, because everything seen here I purchased just today. I hadn't planned on going shopping at all, just needed to run a few errands in town and somehow ended up buying an entire outfit! >.<"

Don't judge me yet though, because I picked up each piece for over half its original price and I'm pretty chuffed with my bargains. I hadn't noticed how well everything tied together until I got home, gearing me up for spring.

Ankle boots: H&M - £7
Knitted jumper: H&M - £10
Coral skirt: River Island - £10
Bracelet: Dorothy Perkins - £3

There were several of each item in the stores I visited, so if there's anything specific here you fancy, it may very well still be available in the places I listed above!

Have a fabulous Easter weekend cuties!

Chiffon Pleats

Hello my lovelies! Thought I'd kick off with a brief update, as mentioned in my previous post, I was offered a job last week! I had my interview on Friday, to which they made and finalised their decision (I presume that very day), in order to share the good news with me the following Monday. Today was my second day on the job and I am EXHAUSTED. My daily commute means I have to be up by 5:30am and I am already SICK of rush hour on the London Underground, BUT, and a very very big but, I'm very happy and consider myself one blessed girly. huhuu~~

Unfortunately, I have significantly less time to take ootd photos and blog, but I enjoy blogging so much that I'm conscious to make time to do so ^^

Onto my outfit, this is my favourite spring ensemble so far (although it feels a lot like winter as I try to survive sub zero temperatures in the UK T__T"). I'm a sucker for quite a few things, but pleats rank very highly on that list!

Chiffon Maxi: Forever 21; Jumper: Topshop; Tan belt: H&M
I love that the chiffon material of this maxi softens the cascading pleats to create a very flowy, fluid skirt, and practically, it's an incredibly comfortable and lightweight material. I love it, undoubtedly my favourite purchase this season.

What's your favourite ensemble this spring?

Introducing :: Firmoo

The lovely people at Firmoo were kind enough to send me a pair of frames of my choice for review and to share with you, my wonderful readers. I took this opportunity to show you all how I would style a pair of frames, and to remind you again how I genuinely wish I needed "real" (prescription) glasses xD Aside from all the medical/sight bestowing reasons, I just think they're an amazing accessory and compliment outfits fantastically.

Anyway, enough about my glasses envy...

Is it summer yet?

Here are a few words that encapsulate the British weather: wet, grey, dull, dismal, gloomy, rubbish, rubbish, and, rubbish... xD

So I present you a rather optimistic outfit to lift my spirits today~

Dress: Topshop (old); Belt: vintage; Sunglasses: eBay; Floral crown: Primark

I've seen so many wonderful DIY floral headpieces around lately, it makes me so envious of everyone's talents since I'm quite lacking in the DIY/craft/creative department. So here I'm wearing quite a subtle flower crown I purchased from Primark last year for £1.50!

Hope the sun's shining where you are~~

With love,

Viv

Ps. I was offered a job on Monday! So excited to finally leave the "unemployed graduate" category, and embark on employment =D

How I Style the LBD

With a bad-ass mirror belt and shiny shoes of course ;D Can you believe I bought this black tutu dress for only £7!

Black dress: H&M; Mirror belt: eBay; Red clutch: Asos; Shoes: Dorothy Perkins

This week has been hectic, from trying to survive the snow, work, falling ill, and interviews, I've barely had the time to check my emails, let alone blog. But hooray for the weekend!

Let me know how you wear your favourite LBD~

Tough Floral

Can't think of anything more feminine than floral print, and anything more edgy than leather. They seem like an unlikely pair, but why not put them together in a more harmonious fashion? Opposites attract after all.

My hair just engulfs me xD

Floral top, Leather jacket: Topshop; Black skirt: New Look, Belt: vintage
I love this long, sheer, not quite a maxi because of its very "in-your-face" slit down the front, well, it's a lot more than just a slit, but I can't think of any occasion to wear this to. What do you guys think?

Bourjois Healthy Mix and Revlon Colourstay :: Beauty Review

Introducing my current foundation, after hearing and seeing some great reviews, I popped into my favourite drugstore Boots, (this shop takes all of my money, I swear), and bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. At the time, the Healthy Mix range was on offer in Boots so I managed to purchase this particular foundation for a few pounds cheaper than its original price.

I had initially purchased this in Nº53 Biege Clair, Light Beige, but I guess the artificial lighting in Boots didn't show its true colour when I tested it on my skin, and once I had applied it on the whole of my face at home, under natural light, it was of a visibly darker shade than my actual skin-tone. Consequently, I returned to Boots a couple of days later and even though the Healthy Mix range wasn't on offer anymore, I picked up the lightest colour in the range: Nº51 Vanille Clair, Light Vanilla.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

I really enjoy using this because its pump design makes dispensing product so easy and completely under your control, as little or as lot as you like! On application, the product is of reasonably thin consistency and blends really well without clinging to, or emphasising any dry patches. It's perfect for days when you just want a quick and easy foundation routine, whilst maintaining a medium coverage.

Un-static

Wearing my super soft angora beanie today, I just love the feel of it :3 I also have this habit of buying men's cardigans, I just love the slouchy, imperfect fit that entails comfort. I bought this hay-coloured one from Uniqlo's men section in XS, after having popped in there meaning to buy something for my brother. In the end I bought him the exact same cardi, but in grey xD

Cardigan: Uniqlo Men; Angora beanie: H&M; High wasted denim shorts: New Look

Big Bang :: Outfit Post and Review

I've noticed that I have quite a few bright red pieces in my wardrobe, I just love how it's such a statement colour, and also how timeless it looks when paired with black. My favourite must be this red blazer from Asos, and lo and behold, I love it more for the black accents from the lapels, along the pocket, and the button.
Red blazer: Asos; Bag: vintage (thrifted in Paris); Bowler hat: H&M

To finish off this look, I'm going bright on the lips too, wearing Rimmel's Apocalips in Big Bang. It's the most vibrant red lip colour I have ever seen, and the formula is amazing. If you're a beauty junkie I'm sure you've heard this all before, but it's a mediator between a lipstick and a lipgloss, creamy, non-drying, crazy pigmented, basically, I just love it! I would advise lining the lips with a red lip liner prior to application for a more precise and sharp finish and to avoid bleeding. At the time these shots were taken I had temporarily lost my red lip liner, (this happens to me quite often ><" but I've since found it lying on my car floor), and had to apply this directly onto my bare lips. However, I was still very satisfied with the finish, the doe-foot applicator is lightweight, and small enough to perform with precision as long as you have a patient and steady hand.

For £5.99 each I think it's a pretty reasonable purchase, I even bought it in shade Apocaliptic, and am currently contemplating purchasing more.

Overall rating 4/5 ✭✭✭✭☆

Have you tried Rimmel's Apocalips? Let me know what you think of them!

Wish List #3

Online shopping is undoubtedly one of my biggest vices, and as much as I am so conscious of this, I just can't stop! I've been browsing House of Fraser's dress collection, and they have such a fabulous variety of dresses that I wanted to show you 4 dresses I absolutely ADORE, and would love if you guys could let me know which is your favourite because I am absolutely spoilt for choice.

If you know me, you'll know that I have an unhealthy obsession for sequins and all things that glitter. I've been on the hunt for a sequin dress for a while now, and I think I may have just found it! I love how only the torso is cloaked in sequins so it's not too flamboyant or flashy, pun intended ;) and the way in which the skirt flares out is so cute! (link here.)
