Deep Blue :: Outfit Post and Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Maxi skirt, sunglasses: Forever 21; Crop top: New Look; Sandals: Faith (old)

Another look from my Rome excursion, keeping it clean and simple with my colour palette, and exploiting the use of textures instead with a crochet crop top and pleated chiffon. A maxi skirt of this material is absolutely perfect, if not essential, to survive 30+ degree heat, and of course, sandals that have been with me for years through thick and thin to trek across the river to Vatican City.

I know Google Reader is undergoing some pretty significant changes and I don't want to miss out on your updates! I understand Bloglovin' is the appropriate alternative, so follow me there! and don't forget to leave me a link to yours~

What's your look for a hot summer day?

Oxblood Chiffon and Aztec Sunday

Blogging on the go. Cosy, big knit Sunday because the weather has taken a turn for the worse. I'm wearing an asymmetrical dress and Aztec knit from the New Look teen section xD anyone else shop in the teen/kids' section? I'm very short, so in terms of the length of dresses/maxis in particular, youth sizes prove a better fit! On another note, I'm glad to be back at church today~ votd: Psalm 119:105

How's your Sunday shaping up?

Flower POW-er :: Outfit Post and Rome update

Hey guys! oh boy, have I missed you! Since we last spoke I've been to Rome and back, and they're experiencing a swelteringly hot summer over there. It was in no way a relaxing/chilled out holiday partly because it was freaking HOT, and partly because we put our feet to very good use and roamed around the city sight-seeing for hours and hours every day. Anyway, I had a wonderful time with two of my most favourite people in this world, and of course, I have outfits to show you!

Flower crown, graphic tee: Primark; Mini skort: Zara
So I brought a different flower crown, to the one I showed you in earlier posts to Rome with me, mainly because I felt cream coloured flowers being more neutral would be simpler to match with outfits. And in the spirit of not wanting to be too feminine that day, I paired it with my graphic cropped tee with the word POW in big letters on the front and my new Zara skort! I am obsessed with this particular skirt/short hybrid, the angular flaps at the front are soso flattering, and the overall look is really tailored and clean cut. My only (very slight) nag, is that even the smallest size is too large for me and fits very loosely at the hips. I have to employ some serious belting and attempt to hide it under fold at the top.

All in all, Rome is beautiful, and there's something I find so intriguing about the oldness (for lack of a better word) of the city. Eerie, mysterious churches and cathedrals can be found on every corner, and literally send shivers down the spine, but a good kind of shiver. Enough waffling from me, I'll leave you with a few photos...

hehe, these are my baby gurlssss, my two cousins, Kat (left) and Sam, click onto their name to check out their blogs!

Toil and Trouble

Cardigan: Monsoon, Riding pants: American Apparel; Flatforms: Boohoo

Wearing this long cardi I helped my mum pick out a couple of months ago, the way the earthy, charcoal colours fuse together really intrigues me, and I can literally think of over 10 different outfits I would love to wear this with! Shame it doesn't belong in my wardrobe. I've also been doing a fair bit of stomping around in these flatforms I purchased at an impulse. They're chunky, strappy, and suede, that makes it an automatic thumbs up from me - if they weren't such a fuss to put on I'd probably give them two.

I'm in the process of collating a few things for a giveaway. Watch this space!

Chained

I promised an outfit featuring this flower crown and voila! My favourite element has to be the body chain, I'd been on the hunt for one for a couple of months but could only find them selling online for over £20 each, slightly extortionate I thought, so I was super pleased when I picked up this for £3! I also love the security of a skort, it has all the traits of a skirt, but when the wind hits, no one will be getting more than they bargained for (if you know what I mean...)

Flower crown, Body chain: Primark; Skort: Paris, Shoes: Zara
On another note, happy 1st of June! We're officially into summer now, I can't wait to be inspired by summer trends and I can't wait till the 13th so that I can fly to Rome!

With love~
