Urban Decay Cannonball Mascara :: Beauty Review

For those of you with straight, almost downward facing lashes, I feel your woe, although my lashes have length, they do not have curl and of all these years wearing makeup I've only just discovered a curl holding mascara as effective as Urban Decay's Cannonball. I've tried so many different mascaras which claim to be best at holding curl, whilst in reality worked to drop the curl I'd spent 10 solid minutes forcing upright with an eyelash curler, to the point where this past year I've been wearing false lashes every day and lemme tell ya, they are not good for the pocket. Anyway, after watching several YT beauty gurus rave about this product I got my hands on UD's Cannonball a month ago and I've not touched false lashes since!

Where I'd been going completely wrong was purchasing mascaras with a wet formula, that is to say, non-waterproof mascaras. As a little side note here, waterproof mascaras contain wax which make the substance dryer and therefore won't weigh the lashes down as much upon application. Cannonball is so intensely waterproof (trialed on surfers even?) that whatever curl you've created with a curler, a few coats of this product will cement them in place for the entire day without budging or smudging.

Pros:
Holds curl for the whole day
A medium sized brush, perfect size for accurate application
A portable, sleek, slim tube
Formula is a very deep, true black
Contains fibres which lengthen lashes

Cons:
A tiny bit of fallout noticed during the day
Requires more effort to remove, oil based makeup remover definitely needed!

I couldn't recommend a better curl holding mascara and although we're looking at a price tag erring towards the higher end of beauty products, UD's Cannonball does a really fantastic job, it's worth it and I will be re-purchasing again.

  4. I've noticed the waxy substance of waterproof mascara. No wonder they're harder to take off. This mascara looks intense on you. I like the effect.

  6. Hey Viv, I know exactly what you mean about non waterproof mascaras - buying endless tubes that never held my curl. I like using the maxfactor waterproof mascara but will pick up this UD version as well.
