17 Degrees

17 degrees Celsius is my new cold, and if that isn’t proof enough I’ve acclimatised to Hong Kong weather I don’t know what is. I literally can’t begin to imagine what it’s like to have to go out when the temperature is in single digits, much like it is in London with reports of snow just a week ago. Seems totally incomparable but I’m still finding Hong Kong at 17 degrees SO cold right now, you would never have thought that I moved away from chilly UK just this January… I’ve clearly shed my thick skin!

It’s always at this time of year when I’m shivering under several layers writing up blog posts that I look forward to what the Summer will bring. These photos taken just last month serve as a warm reminder that bare legs and sunglasses are something to look forward to, (I’m lucky enough that it comes around pretty swiftly in Hong Kong), and as someone who holds organisation and planning (shopping) as my highest priority, it’s only right that I make sure my wardrobe is ready for it. I know winter is in full throttle in many parts of the world right now, but I’m actually planning trips to destinations that are hot all year round so I’m not packing my bikinis away this season.

Even if you’re cosying up by the fireplace ready for hibernation during the next few months there’s no reason you can’t take a peek at some travel essentials, and even better out of season so that you bag a bargain on that cute bikini you wanted all of Summer 2017! I already have Malaysia set in stone for next year with an itinerary laid out, what I need to do now is to shop for it - we all know that there’s nothing quite like holiday shopping! Not only are sunhats, bikinis and cute cover ups at the top of my list but I’m also in the market for much more practical items like a new suitcase and travel friendly skincare. Before I hit you up with my holiday travel essentials and what I’ll be packing for Malaysia allow me to digress and give you some outfit details. This Plum Carolina Floral Shift Dress from Tobi pits a deep v neck against a charming ruffle hem for a taste of the best of both worlds. My initial thoughts were that this would be ideal for a Spring/Summer wedding, throw on a tailored cream blazer and strappy heels you have instant best dressed wedding guest! With no wedding to go to I played it casual with denim and a pair of platform Vans for shooting in Hong Kong’s ubiquitous alleyways. It’s so refreshing to see this shade of purple, I think this might be the only purple piece that I own!

Anyway, back to holiday shopping, I’ve trawled the internet for my must haves for travelling to warm destinations in 2018! A number of items are on discount because of the time of year, so I hope you pick up a bargain too!
